Nelson Veterinary Care!

Nelson Veterinary Services opened in 1998 when Dr. Bob and some friends converted an ex-RV repair shop into a veterinary clinic. Dr. Nelson passed away February 2022 but the business has continued to take care of his clients and patients in the community that he loved. Our mission is to continue Dr. Bob’s traditions and legacy. To treat each of our patients as though they are part of our family.

We’re pleased to provide a wide variety of veterinary services for animals in Lassen and Plumas Counties.

We do our best to accommodate each patient as quickly as possible. There may be times when unexpected delays will occur due to an emergency or a patient requiring more time than anticipated. Rest assured the same dedication, concern and courtesy will be provided to your pet if they should ever need it.

Our Team

Sandy Anderson

Receptionist/Office Manager

I’ve worked at Nelson Veterinary Services for almost 20 years. My favorite part of this job is the animals and animal people. My Mini Australian Shepherd Chili comes to work with me every day!

Having been an animal person all my life but not really knowing that much about them, I started working at Nelson Veterinary Service as Bookkeeper/Receptionist. During these(many) years I have learned about dogs and cats and have become involved in all facets of the business. (Dr. Bob taught whether I wanted to learn or not!)

I am proud to have been involved with the evolution of this business and whole heartedly want to continue to serve the community that Dr. Bob so loved.

Kerrington Daugherty

Registered Vet Tech

Hello My name is Kerrington. I have been working at Nelson Veterinary Services for 4 years. I have recently earned my Registered Veterinary Technicians License. When I was a junior in high school I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Bob Nelson who really sparkd my interest in the veterinary field and he became my mentor.

Dr. Meredith Masch has introduced me into the large animal aspect of veterinary medicine and has since sparked a whole new interest that I hope to continue.

Growing up in the Chester/Lake Almanor Community I enjoy spending my time outdoors skiing, hiking and fishing. I have two dogs and four chickens. One of my dogs you might have seen at the office, Tater my red Australian Cattle Dog comes to work with me.

Teresa Clark

Receptionist

My name is Teresa Clark, I am new to Nelson Veterinary Services. I started working here in June of 2023 as a receptionist. My love for animals is the reason I applied for this job. My goal is to make you feel comfortable bringing your pet/pets to Nelson Veterinary Services rather it be for an annual check-up, adequan shot, vaccinations, spay or neuter, toenail trims, repairing wounds or having to say goodbye to your beloved pet.

I was raised between Star Valley, Wyoming and northern California through my school years. I made Kamas, Utah my home for 14 year while raising my children. After my daughter graduated high school, I moved back to Northern California in 2014 to be closer to my elderly parents.
